The Life And Times Of Saint Obi

Several sources have now confirmed that renowned actor Saint Obi is deceased after days of rumors concerning his whereabouts. According to reports, the actor passed away last Sunday at a sibling’s house. However, according to stories, his siblings’ disagreements prevented the news’s official announcement. Therefore, to acquire further information to enlighten the public, AGN and AMP are on the case, according to multiple sources in Nollywood.

No official statement about the actor’s death’s location or cause had been made as of the time of this writing. However, the family allegedly disagrees slightly, so the Actors Guild of Nigeria has not yet released a public comment. Saint Obi, who appeared in over 100 films, enjoyed enormous popularity in the 1990s and the early 2000s. The Nigerian actor was well-known for his lover boy roles in movies and action movie roles.

Life & Times of the Late Veteran Actor

The movies Candle Light, State of Emergency, Sakobi, Goodbye Tomorrow, Heart of Gold, Festival of Fire, Executive Crime, and Last Party all feature Obi in prominent parts. On November 16, 1965, Obi was born. At the University of Jos, where he specialized in theater arts, he made his acting debut in a 1996 Peugeot television advertisement. Obi created Take Me to Maama in 2001, a film in which he played Jerry with Ebi Sam, Rachel Oniga, Nse Abel, and Enebeli Elebuwa.

The actor gave up performing a few years ago to concentrate on, among other things, the business and production sides of the entertainment industry. In an interview, he said that to make things better, he would have to work behind the scenes. A production, talent, brand management, and public relations company with offices in Nigeria and the United States of America, Agwhyte International Limited was founded and led by Obi.

Numerous awards for his acting have been given to Saint Obi, including Best Actor in Nigeria at the African Movie Academy Awards, Best Actor in Africa at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, Most Prominent Actor in Nigeria at the City People Entertainment Awards, and Best Actor in a Leading Role at the Nollywood Movie Awards.

Saint is survived by Lydia Saint-Nwafor, his ex-wife, and their three children. Lydia is a senior MTN employee from Nigeria’s Anambra State. However, Saint Obi and Lydia Saint-Nwafor’s 15-year marriage ended in divorce in 2021. Our thoughts and prayers are with the deceased’s family at this moment. Rest on, Saint. You will be greatly missed.
