Top 10 2022 Amapiano Songs In Nigeria

Read our list of the top 10 Amapiano songs released in 2022 in Nigeria.

Years back, when Amapiano gained ground in South Africa, the big question was whether it would last through time and not fade away. Fortunately for the genre, it has dominated all of Africa and is currently taking over the world, one hit at a time. In Nigeria this year, many Piano hits dominated the airwaves, charts, and streaming platforms.

Nigerian artists blended elements of Piano into their Afrobeats tracks and made hits for days. One artist, especially, who gained a lot of praise for his music this year, was Asake. The YBNL star released many tracks and blessed the scene with the Piano album “Mr. Money With The Vibe.”

Some would argue that he helped gain Amapiano’s significant recognition on the international scene. Some of South Africa’s biggest Amapiano DJs would agree. Also, artists like Lojay, Mayorkun, Burna, and more have helped popularize the genre. Here’s a list of the top 10 Piano jams released in Nigeria this year.

1. SARZ, Lojay & Chris Brown – Monalisa

In 2021, Nigerian artist Lojay teamed up with versatile Nigerian producer SARZ and dropped the “LV N ATTN” EP. The project spawned a couple of hits, including the Piano banger “Monalisa.” The song became so popular that it gained praise all over Africa. Later in 2022, a remix featuring American R&B and pop star Chris Brown was released. The remix was just as popular as the original.

2. Asake – Sungba (Remix) feat. Burna Boy

It is Mr. Money with the vibe. Nigeria, Africa, and the world have loved every minute they have spent with Asake this year. His meteoric rise to the top was everything Piano needed. He dropped the mildly successful jam “Sungba” and received good reception. Later, he released a remix with Grammy winner Burna Boy, which became an even bigger success.

3. Asake – Peace Be Unto You

You cannot list the most prominent Piano artists of 2022 without mentioning the one and only Asake. The Nigerian star has taken the world by storm with his music and is currently on tour in the UK. He blessed the airwaves with many hits, including this one, “Peace Be Unto You,” in which he sings about his many blessings and disciples all around him. Indeed, Asake was the king of the airwaves this year.

4. Victony – Apollo

Calm and quiet as ever, Victony let his music do the talking this year. Since surviving a car crash a while back, the Nigerian wizard has focused on making more music and being the best at it. He even snagged himself a feature on Burna Boy’s “Love, Dlamini” album. Victony’s “Apollo” was a massive hit. The song featured on his 2022 “Outlaw EP,” which also spawned many hits.

5. SPINALL – Palazzo (feat. Asake)

Sometimes, we wonder what goes on in Asake’s head. We loved the lyric, “I just blow but omor, I know my set.” Indeed, Asake is in a league of his own. The Nigerian Amapiano star blessed the airwaves with a lot of good music this year. He hit the studio with DJ Spinall a while back, and “Palazzo” poured out of him. We are grateful that the song was released this year.

6. Mayorkun – Certified Loner (No Competition)

Mayorkun is a lone ranger, and he’s not ashamed to defend it. The former DMW star loves his space, but it never hinders the hits he makes for his fans. The Mayor Of Lagos previously claimed the airwaves with his Victony Collab “Holy Father.” He returned with another huge hit tagged “Certified Loner (No Competition),” which sounded like a true life story. And yes, it was.

7. Wizkid – Bad To Me

Call him Big Wiz, Wizzy, or Bad Boy Wiz, and you won’t be wrong. He has us caged, and we don’t want freedom. The year was exciting as he made history with his hit Grammy-nominated album “Made In Lagos.” Wizkid returned with the first single off his next project, “More Love, Less Ego,” titled “Bad To Me.” The Piano jam did not disappoint. It quickly took over the airwaves and was embraced by fans.

8. Asake – Organise

Do you know the Nigerian saying “who don big, don big”? It means, whoever is big, is big. There’s no coming back from it. They’re gone. LoL. That’s the story of Asake, Nigeria’s new Piano king. Ololade or Mr. Money dropped his debut album, “Mr. Money With The Vibe,” and the reception was crazy. The song “Organize” became an instant fan favorite. He recently dropped a music video for it.

9. Asake – Terminator

In our opinion (ours and everyone else’s), Asake is anything he calls himself. The Nigerian star is one of the most prominent champions of Amapiano in the world right now. His debut album, “Mr. Money With The Vibe,” was a significant success, and it dominated the charts worldwide. Before the album dropped, “Terminator” was one of the singles released from it. As of the time of publishing this article, it has amassed over 15.8 million streams on Spotify alone.

10. Asake – Joha

If we were asked to list some of the reasons why we love Asake, we would certainly mention the fact that he makes hits for days. The Nigerian star has claimed so much success this year that we cannot keep count anymore. He crowned his efforts with the release of his debut album. “Joha” is one of the album’s singles and one of its favourites. Shout out to him.
