6ix9ine Says He Disavows Puerto Rican Heritage Due To His Father Abandoning Him

6ix9ine is half Mexican and half Puerto Rican, although if you ask him, he solely claims his mother’s side of the family as his father is never around. At the World Baseball Classic semifinal game between Mexico and Puerto Rico on March 17, the New York rapper was approached for a brief talk while intoxicated. Despite having a mixed origin, 6ix9ine exclusively waved the Mexican flag when questioned on camera and explained why.

“My dad abandoned me; he’s Puerto Rican!” he commented on the flag’s selection.

When asked where his father was, he replied, “I don’t care. I don’t care. My mom raised me Mexican…. My mom raised me Mexican, an immigrant. I love my mom with all my heart. She played the role of mother and father for me.”

He fought with a fan later on at the event. Some supporters rose and booed him as he waved the Mexican flag toward them. An unidentified male then threw a beer can and made his way. 6ix9ine kept waving the flag even after the can almost hit him before he stopped when an unknown man approached him. After the incident, park officials reportedly relocated him, according to media reports.

The event was captured on camera by baseball journalist Aram Leighton, who claimed it happened due to people’s contempt for the 26-year-old musician. Only a few weeks have passed since 6ix9ine wrecked his Rolls-Royce Phantom in an unidentified place. Recently, a video of the rapper being physically abused in a gym closet appeared on social media, leaving netizens wondering what the musician was up to as fans prayed for his speedy recovery.
