According To Don Jazzy, He Considers Talent But Relies On Luck When Signing Artists
Michael Collins Ajereh, commonly known as Don Jazzy, is one of the most recognizable figures in the Nigerian music industry. Don Jazzy is credited with identifying and nurturing some of the most well-known musical figures on the continent as the founder of Mavin Records. He has risen to the top of the field thanks to his keen eye for talent and zeal for developing up-and-coming stars.
Don Jazzy has talked openly about his selection procedure when deciding which musician to sign in an interview with Hauwa Magaji. He claims that besides preparedness and talent, he relies on luck. He claims that regardless of how brilliant any artist is if they are not lucky or well-prepared, they will not be able to succeed in the music business. He stressed the value of maintaining integrity even after success and recognition.
