According To Reports, Kanye West Is Taking A Year Off From His Career

Kanye West has had a lot on his plate in the last year. Of course, he released DONDA in August, which was one of his most ambitious musical projects in a long time. Following that, he immediately began work on DONDA 2, which has yet to see a formal release. Kanye has been dealing with his public breakup from Kim Kardashian, who is now dating Pete Davidson, in the midst of all of this.

Ye has been through a lot, and DONDA collaborator Vory claims he is ready to relax. Vory revealed to Complex that Ye didn’t show up to his Lost Souls listening party because he wanted to take a year to himself, away from both the music and public life.

“The person who made me realize my twisted thoughts weren’t so twisted was Ye, because we think alike. I was just talking to him today,” Vory revealed. “We’ve been talking through my best friend who’s also his assistant, because he hasn’t been wanting to talk to anybody. He’s taking a year off, and he was like, ‘Damn, you think Vory is going to be mad at me if I don’t go to his release party?’ And I was like, ‘Nah, you’re straight, bro.’ He’s battling his own shit. That’s my dog, I learned a lot from him.”
