Accused Shooter In Lady Gaga Dog Theft Mistakenly Released From Jail

The man accused of shooting and badly wounding Lady Gaga’s dog-walker and fleeing with her two French bulldogs has been mistakenly freed from jail. James Howard Jackson was being held on an attempted murder charge but was set free from a jail in Los Angeles “due to a clerical error”, a sheriff’s department said.

The 19-year-old is now wanted by the sheriff’s major crimes bureau. Prosecutors reveal Jackson and two other alleged gang members had been on the prowl for expensive French bulldogs to steal on the 24th day of February, last year.

Upon spotting Ryan Fisher, they allegedly tailed and robbed him as he walked Lady Gaga’s dog near Sunset Boulevard. During the violent struggle, Fischer got hit, choked and finally shot in an attack all captured on cam by the doorbell camera of a nearby home, according to prosecutors.

In the clip, the dog walker can be heard screaming “Oh, my God! I’ve been shot!” and “Help me!” and “I’m bleeding out from my chest!” The unexpected attack eventually led to Fischer losing part of a lung.

Speaking to KABC-TV, Fisher had this to say in a statement: “While I’m deeply concerned at the events that led to his release, I’m confident law enforcement will rectify the error. I ask for Mr Jackson to turn himself over to the authorities, so resolution to the crime committed against me runs its course, whatever the courts determine that outcome to be.”
