After Her Legendary, Career-Spanning VMAs Performance, Nicki Minaj Thanks Ye, Eminem, And Rihanna

The annual MTV Music Video Awards generally feature an incredible lineup of performers, but this year, the performer who fans were most anticipating seeing was none other than “Super Bass” hit-maker Nicki Minaj, who is also the 2022 Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award winner.

The Trinidadian rapper performed her best hits from her whole career before accepting the prestigious award, including “All Things Go,” “Roman’s Revenge,” “Monster,” “Beez in the Trap,” “Chun-Li,” “Moment 4 Life,” “Super Bass,” “Anaconda,” and finally, “Super Freaky Girl.” According to PEOPLE, the audience was enthusiastically singing along and stood up to support Mama Minaj.

Even country/pop sensation Taylor Swift was seen on camera chanting the lyrics to some of the songs while pushing other people to stand up with her. The 39-year-old made a touching speech as she accepted the VMA (which was given to her by Barbz members) in which she thanked “key people” who she views as role models, including Lil Wayne and JAY-Z.

Kanye West, Rihanna, Beyoncé, Eminem, and others also received flowers from Minaj in appreciation for providing her with “big opportunities” that propelled her to where she is now. “I wish Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson were still here,” she said.
