After Publicizing His Location For People Seeking “Smoke,” Rapper Rollie Bands Was Reportedly Shot And Killed

  • Rapper Rollie Bands, from Tampa, Florida, was reportedly shot and died over the weekend only moments after calling out his adversaries to meet at his apartment. Fox 13 reported that authorities from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said they were looking into a homicide that occurred on Friday, July 22, at the IQ Apartments on Bruce B Downs Boulevard.

Rollie Bands uploaded on his Instagram Stories just five minutes prior to the shooting, “A lot of these n-ggas know where I live at fr. I sleep in peace. If a n-gga want smoke I’m at my crib in 5 minutes.”

Deputies from Hillsborough County learned that a man had been shot in the apartment complex’s parking lot after the suspects had already left the area. The victim was reportedly taken to a nearby hospital in a hurry, but he later passed away from his wounds. Authorities think the victim was acquainted with the suspects.

Over the years, social media has been a factor in many homicides. Pop Smoke died prematurely in 2020 after unintentionally posting the Hollywood Hills rental’s address on Instagram. He had previously been the victim of a home invasion.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information on the Rollie Bands shooting or the suspects to call (813) 247-8200.
