Akon Declares His Love For Black Sherif And His Music

When asked what he thought about Black Sherif on BBC Radio, Akon could not contain his admiration. The Ghanaian rapper was then lavished with accolades by him on live radio. The “Lonely” hitmaker praised Black Sherif’s career and added that, if necessary, he might sign the 20-year-old singer because of her drive for success, which reminds him (Akon) of when he was also breaking into the music business.

The business tycoon claimed that his Malian friend had sold him on Blacko’s music the moment he had heard it. His interpretation of Blacko’s message is that it captures the youthful aspirations for success on the African continent.

“He is currently the voice of the youth in Africa,” he said.

Akon also described his feelings when he first heard a song by Black Sherif. Blacko has been a successful two years, particularly after the publication of his album The Villain I Never Was, which has received positive reviews from critics for its range, fervor, and nuanced message.

He recently performed at his first concert in the UK, which was followed by a well praised enthralling performance at the 2020 MOBO Awards. At the Ghana Music Awards UK, he was selected as the Artiste of the Year for 2022. He has worked with notable figures in the music industry such as Burna Boy, Stormzy, and Sarkodie.
