Award Nominations: TG Omori Calls Out Sound City For Video Directors Exclusion

Prominent video director TG Omori blasted Sound City for failing to give video directors credit for their work in the Best Video category for the Sound City MVP nomination.

Sound City recently announced the 2023 Sound City MVP award nominees.

A list of songs in the video category were identified by their artists’ names and images rather than those of the filmmakers of the videos.

TG Omori voiced his opinions on this choice via his Instagram account since he found it to be unsatisfactory.

On Sunday, January 22, 2023, TG Omori criticized Sound City on his Instagram story for only recognizing the artists in the nominated videos rather than the video directors who created them.

‘Boy Director’ felt that the behavior was insulting, especially given that Sound City is a TV station where music videos are frequently featured.

The top director urged that the error be addressed and that the video directors receive their due in the one area in which they are eligible for consideration.

Olamide, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tekno, Kiss Daniel, Fireboy DML, Falz, Timaya, Naira Marley, Asake, and many other recording artists from different genres have had music videos directed by TG Omori.

The majority of the videos on the “summer 2019 charts” of MTV, Soundcity, and Trace countdowns in 2019 were produced by TG Omori. And till date, He has been the top director and go-to guy for music artistes who desire unique creativity.
