Ayra Starr Discusses Working With Asake And Seyi Vibez

The highly anticipated sophomore album by Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Ayra Starr has been teased with some interesting new information.

Ayra, whose real name is Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, discussed her work with two of Nigeria’s top Afrofusion artists, Asake and Seyi Vibez, in an interview on Beats 99.9 FM’s morning drive show on Tuesday, May 28, despite reports that the two musicians were at odds. As a major fan of both Seyi Vibez and Asake’s musical genres, the Mavins record label signee expressed her respect for both artists.

With particular attention to Seyi Vibez’s song “Different Pattern,” Ayra Starr talked about how much she loved it and how it motivated her to get in touch with the musician about working together. Seyi Vibez hit back quickly, she said, sending his verse almost immediately. Ayra Starr talked about her partnership with Asake as well, touching on how fast he answered her request to be featured on the record.

In addition, she played down the reported feud between the two musicians, stating that she is more concerned with the sound of her music than with any potential disputes.

Ayra Starr talked about her partnerships as well as her unforgettable meeting with international superstar Rihanna. She was confident that Rihanna enjoys the kind of sound she hears in her music. She would not, however, say whether or not she and Rihanna are collaborating on a project.
