Banky W Defeated By The Labour Party Candidate In Lagos, Eti-Osa Federal Constituency Asserts

Mr. Thaddeus Attah of the Labour Party defeated Banky W of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the election held on Saturday for the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the Labour Party the victor after a results collation at the Model Nursery and Primary School, Marwa, Lekki 1. Prof. Funmilayo Odukoya, the INEC returning officer, made the announcement.
By earning 24,075 votes, Attah outperformed his opponents Mr. Olubankole Wellington (Banky W) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who received 18,666 votes, and Mr. Babjide Obanikoro of the APC, who obtained 16,901 votes.

Before the presiding officer announced the results, there was chaos between the party agents and INEC officers regarding the validity of the outcome. APC and PDP were among the agents that objected to the announcement of the results until their grievances were resolved. The PDP agent, Mr. Aderemi Adeshina, stated that certain voters were denied the right to vote in various polling places in the LGA in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria. Adeshina further asserted that some units’ post-election results were not relayed via the BVAS system.

According to NAN, there were security personnel on the ground, including the police and army, to ensure and uphold security and tranquility.
