Banky W Finally Opens Up On Losing His Seat In The Federal House Of Representatives
Bankole Wellington, also known as Banky W, is a renowned Nigerian singer, songwriter, and politician. However, he recently lost the general election there. In the general elections of 2023, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Eti-Osa constituency, the EME CEO, lost to the Labour Party candidate Attah.
With 24,075 votes, Attah defeated his rivals, Mr. Babjide Obanikoro of the APC, who received 16,901 votes, and Mr. Olubankole Wellington (Banky W), a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who received 18,666 votes. After receiving overwhelming support from his peers in the industry, Banky W published a motivational video on Instagram on March 6, 2023, stating that the loss has no impact on him and that he is instead grateful to God.
Banky W showed his profound disappointment at losing the election in the video he released of himself preaching during a church service on a Sunday. The singer said that in anticipation of his success, he had made numerous arrangements, such as setting up a Sunday thanksgiving celebration and looking for an apartment and office in Abuja.
Even though it’s common to feel hurt in such situations, Banky W claimed that his faith in God had strengthened him despite his sorrow. The politician further declared that he would go on with the already planned Thanksgiving service and that his loss in the election would not prevent him from offering thanks to God.
