Hadid and Campbell participated in a fashion show on Friday to encourage the development of young creative and business talent from developing nations, particularly from Africa, the diaspora, and other underdeveloped areas of the world. The event was a part of Campbell’s brand-new global charitable initiative, EMERGE, which she launched this week in collaboration with Qatar Creates.
It was hosted under the patronage of Sheikha Al-Mayassa bint Hamad Al-Thani. The goal of EMERGE is to bring together the fashion and creative industries. Award-winning fashion designers from Africa, the Middle East, and the diaspora, such as Thebe Magugu, Bianca Saunders, and Abdel El-Tayeb, were worn by Hadid, Campbell, and the other models.
Hadid appeared on the runway in a black coat dress with a beaded neck chain. For the fashion event, Campbell, 52, wore two different costumes. The first was a floor-length outfit with cutout triangular patterns across the breast and a hood covering her head. Her second outfit was a white and blue feathery ombre gown. A gala banquet followed the fashion show.
Hadid, 26, wore a form-fitting hot-red dress with a hood that also covered her head, and she looked like Red Riding Hood. Campbell, meanwhile, was decked up in a velvet purple dress with puffy sleeves and a sparkling diamond necklace.
