Billie Eilish Records Her Biggest Album Debut With “Hit Me Hard And Soft”

Billie Eilish’s critically praised third studio album Hit Me Hard and Soft marks her biggest album debut of her career, with more than 500 million global streams and No. 1 debuts in 14 countries and counting. More chart data will be available early next week.

Hit Me Hard and Soft, which has ten tracks and was entirely written by 22-year-old multiple Grammy and two-time Academy Award winner EIlish, along with her brother Finneas, who produced the album, has outperformed the first week sales of her multi-award-winning, ground-breaking, and history-making 2019 debut album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, which has racked up more than 69 billion streams and sold an astounding 7.7 million units in the US and 17.8 million units worldwide since its release.

“Lunch” was the most added song in the US during its first week of release, reaching over 20 million listeners across numerous platforms and being played on over 250 radio stations. It is still the most streamed song worldwide on Spotify, Apple Music, and iTunes.  Following the success of her 2015 breakthrough single “Ocean Eyes,” Eilish has gone on to become the youngest artist to be nominated for and win in every major category at the 62nd Grammy Awards in 2020.

In addition, she won Best New Artist, Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Vocal Album.
