Bloody Civilian, an Abuja-born, Lagos-raised singer, producer, and storyteller, has released her new track “I Don’t Like You,” which is available today via Def Jam Recordings/0207 Def Jam UK. The fiercely energetic Afro-pop anthem follows her critically praised debut single and video, “How To Kill A Man,” and will appear on her upcoming EP, ANGER MANAGEMENT, due in May.
Bloody Civilian has rapidly become one of the industry’s most exciting new voices, with a distinct sound that combines R&B with elements of her West African heritage. Her storytelling abilities shine through in “I Don’t Like You,” a song with immediately catchy hooks and sweeping melodies.
“I Don’t Like You” builds on the worldwide success of “How To Kill A Man,” which combined Bloody Civilian’s natural aptitude for satirical hooks with powerful melodies to create a truly unique statement. Following the single’s success, Bloody’s collaboration with Rema, “Wake Up,” was included on the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever – Music From and Inspired By soundtrack album.
ANGER MANAGEMENT, Bloody Civilian’s forthcoming EP, promises to be as compelling as her debut. Fans can anticipate hearing more of her signature blend of styles and inspirations and her unique take on the world.
Bloody Civilian says about her music, “I love writing stories and telling stories and sharing what is on my mind without consequences. My goal is to empower and platform African art and history beyond the dominance of our music. I hope my career will be marked by my distinct dedication to uplifting my African culture and heritage in every space I encounter.”
“I Don’t Like You” is now available on all main streaming services. Stay tuned for more information on ANGER MANAGEMENT and Bloody Civilian’s ongoing rise as one of the industry’s most exciting new talents.
