Timbaland was drawn to the song “Something Different” from the father of one’s earlier album “Afropop Vol.1,” which caught Timbaland’s interest. His latest song, “Party no dey Stop,” features street-hop performer Zinoleesky and still performs well on the charts.

Timbaland was spotted jamming to the mellow Afro-fusion track ‘Something Different’ by AG Baby from his 2020 album ‘Afro Pop, Vol. 1’ in a video that has been going viral online. In the video, Timbaland, having fun while swaying to the song, said that the music “is hard” and then expressed a desire to collaborate with the Afropop artist. He said,

Yo! This song’s hard bruh! We gotta work!

According to a report from Billboard, the “High” singer just signed a contract with Def Jam Records, a renowned American song label, which indicates that AG Baby has been doing well lately.

Tunji Balogun, the company’s chairman and chief executive officer, stated this in a statement. In the press statement, Balogun commended Kosoko for his composition, creative talent, singing proficiency, and stage presence. As a result, def Jam would enter the Afrobeats market, according to Balogun, who said he had that goal when he started working for the label in 2022.

He entered the Nigerian music scene in 2015 and rose to fame as AG Baby with his breakout single, “Sade.” In 2017, the same year he secured his first record label deal with YBNL Nation, his debut album, “Gold,” was released.

Two years after the YBNL contract expired, the father of one also established his own business, Afro Urban Records. His two albums, “Around 30” (2018) and “Catch Me If You Can” (2022), were both released. In June 2023, Def Jam will now release a new album that is in the works from him.
