Afrobeats sensation, Burna Boy from Nigeria, has made history by becoming the first African musician to lead the music charts in India. This historic achievement was made possible by his recent collaboration on “Mera Na bu,” a song by the late Indian musician Sidhu Moosa Wala. Burna Boy’s historic feat follows the debut of another Nigerian artist, Rema, on the Billboard India Songs chart.
In an exclusive video from the Notting Hill Carnival of 2022, enthusiastic fans can be heard chanting along to “Last Last” by Burna Boy. The number one song on the rankings, “Mera Na,” combines Afrobeats and Indian rap in an original and lively way.
