Burna Boy Makes His Feature Film Debut With “3 Cold Dishes”

The self-acclaimed African Giant and Afro-fusion sensation, Burna Boy, is making his cinematic debut as an executive producer for the upcoming thriller, “3 Cold Dishes.”

Asurf Oluseyi will direct and Tomi Adesina will write this project, which was unveiled by Black Mic Mac, a multimedia firm that specializes in films and TV shows using African and Middle Eastern talent. The compelling tale of three teenagers who were trafficked for sex and then reunited thirteen years later to exact revenge is told in 3 Cold Dishes.

The film will have dialogues in French, Yoruba, and English and is set in Nigeria, the Republic of Benin, and Côte d’Ivoire. In addition to Burna Boy’s Spaceship Films, the project is a joint venture involving Black Mic Mac, Ifind, Alma Prods., Asurf Films, and Martian Network. Taking great pride in the enormous amount of work undertaken to realize the project, director Asurf Oluseyi called the movie a “groundbreaking pan-African” endeavor.

Famous Nollywood actors like Osas Ighodaro—who doubles as a co-executive producer—as well as actors from Ivory Coast and Senegal are included in the cast, along with Femi Jacobs, Brutus Richards, Ruby Akubueze, Greg Ojefua, and Wale Ojo. Celebrated musicians Ayra Starr, Johnny Drille, Asa, Tems, Brymo, and Angelique Kidjo are expected to contribute to the soundtrack, while Burna Boy may even contribute a track or two.
