Burna Boy’s “Love, Damini” Overtakes Wizkid’s “Made In Lagos” On Spotify’s All-Time Most Streamed

A new milestone has been reached on the well-known music streaming service, Spotify, by the Grammy-winning singer from Nigeria, Burna Boy, who has surpassed Wizkid, another Grammy-winning artist.

“Love, Damini” by Burna Boy, which dethroned Wizkid’s “Made In Lagos”(Deluxe) album in 2021, is currently the third-most streamed Nigerian music of all time on Spotify.

Burna Boy is now the only Nigerian artist with two albums in the Top 5 Most Streamed Nigerian Albums of All-Time on Spotify, with his 2019 “African Giant” album ranking as the second most streamed album on the service.

CKay The First by CKay, with 662.8 million streams, Made In Lagos (Deluxe) by Wizkid, with 583.3 million streams, African Giant by Burna Boy, with 662.3 million streams, and Love, Damini by Burna Boy, with 584 million streams, are the Top 5 Most Streamed Nigerian Albums of All Time, according to a Spotify analysis. Rema’s Rave & Roses completes the Top 5 list with 443.4M.

Burna Boy, who has released two albums, is narrowly trailing CKay, who has had the most Nigerian music streamed overall, as seen in the chart above. Wizkid and Rema are in fourth and fifth position, respectively.

With his “Love, Damini” album, Burna Boy earned two MOBO Awards in 2022 and topped Apple Music, Spotify, and Boomplay charts. This feat made him the most streamed Nigerian artist of the year 2022.
