Cardi B Claims That Her Debút Album’s Appearance Atop The Rolling Stone’s Top 200 Albums Was “A Setup”

The mother of two Cardi B is the newest celebrity to join Angela Yee and company on the Lip Service podcast, and she did not disappoint when she spilled the beans on everything from getting regularly dragged by the internet to sending steamy videos to her spouse.

The 29-year-old’s discussion of her position on Rolling Stone’s list of the 200 greatest hip-hop albums of all time, which generated some internet buzz and even led some people to hurl derogatory remarks her way, was one of the interview’s most memorable moments.

“They was dragging me like, ‘How dare they put Cardi before Nas?’ I was like, ‘Oh my goodness.’ I just woke up and I’m getting my ass dragged. I didn’t even ask for this,” she recalled, about 52 minutes into her interview. The New York native had a message for the critics even though she understands where they are coming from. “I understand that but it’s like, bitch, I ain’t motherf*cking ask for it.”

“yeah, it was like, a setup,” she referred to her position as the 16th on the coveted list. “Rolling Stone, you trying to set me up. You got my ass dragged on a f*cking Tuesday for no reason.” View her complete Lip Service episode below.
