Chris Brown Talks About His Love For Afrobeats
In a recent episode of the podcast “Million Dollarz Worth of Game,” he revealed that he likes to listen to Nigerian Afrobeat music when he’s not jamming to his songs. He also mentioned his opinion that the genre deserves the acclaim it has gained on a global scale.
Brown also referred to his latest song with Wizkid, “Call Me Everyday,” which appeared on his successful latest studio album, “Breezy,” after being released first as a single.
Breezy has always had a deep-seated love for the African sound, especially Afrobeats, and has contributed immensely to the global movement of Afrobeat culture. Before the recent Chris Brown and Wizkid feature for his latest installment, Chris had worked with the rave of the moment, Rema, on “Love N Attention,” which featured on Rema’s blockbuster debut album, “Rave & Roses.”
Chris Brown had also been featured by other prominent acts, such as Lojay and Fireboy DML, on hit records that did a lot for the Afrobeat sound. Breezy is also credited as one of the American stars that helped introduce Afrobeats to the United States through his collaboration with Wizkid on his incredible “Sounds From the Other Side” project. With love this big for Afrobeats, we surely expect more of his collaborations with Afrobeat artists.
