Cynthia Morgan Praises Nancy Isime’s Acting, Questions Mercy Eke’s AMVCA Outfit

Nigerian singer lauds Isime's performance, raises questions about Eke's outfit and Timini Egbuson's award snub

In a recent social media post, Nigerian singer Cynthia Morgan, also known as Madrina, made headlines by weighing in on the recent Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) event and sharing her views on some key industry figures.

Posting on her Instagram story, Morgan hailed actress Nancy Isime for her consistency and notable presence on screen over the past two years. According to Morgan, Isime is the rightful recipient of the ‘Actress of the Year’ award.

The singer didn’t shy away from commending other notable actresses such as Mercy Eke, Nse Ikpe, and Ini Edo, particularly applauding their roles in the hit movie ‘Shanty Town.’ However, Morgan did not hold back her criticism of Eke’s AMVCA dress, urging her to accept accolades for her acting rather than her fashion choice.

In the same vein, Morgan brought attention to the omission of Timini Egbuson from the ‘Actor of the Year’ nominations. She expressed confusion over the snub and implored her followers to question the decision.

“But Nancy Isime is the real actress of the year. Argue with your ancestors. Even Mercy Eke deserved some accolades. I mean her acting in Shanty Town not that outfit, please. Nse to of course Ini is doing well too. But talking about who has been on our screens for two consecutive years now. It’s Nancy. And talking about the actor of the year where did you guys keep Timini,” she wrote.

Morgan’s comments have certainly stirred up some discussions in the industry, shedding light on some overlooked performances and sparking debates over fashion choices at the event.
