A leaked conversation between Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez and DMW founder Davido has stirred a flurry of online banter. Davido had returned to socials briefly for his World Cup performance, left, and then made an enormous comeback with his album announcement, which was met with great support from fans and followers. In light of this, Bad Boi Blaq slid into Davido’s inbox on Twitter to hail his return.
Davido responded like a gentleman, thanking the rapper for his kind words. Next, Blaq brought to OBO’s notice the release date for his next single, which clashes with the date Davido announced as his album release date. But Davido made light of the situation, saying it did not matter as they both have their separate audiences. However, Davido’s words of encouragement were like water poured on stone.
Blaq hit the vent again, satirically lamenting how the industry never favors his release dates. He referred to when Neo-fuji icon Asake dropped his debut album. At the time, Blaq had already set out a date before Asake’s album announcement but was made to hold off on its release because Asake was dominating the scene just like “Timeless” will be doing in a few days. So, after all, it looks like Blaq would be delaying his impending release. Have a look at the leaked chat below.
The fans had a thing or two to say too.
