Davido Joins Wizkid & CKay To Bag RIAA Platinum Certification
Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido has hit another significant milestone! The multi-award-winning singer and performer David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, has joined Wizkid and CKay to become the first Nigerian musicians in history to have a song that has sold more than a million units in the US. After selling over a million copies in the United States alone since its June 2, 2017, release, Davido’s popular song “Fall” has been awarded a platinum certification by the RIAA.
On May 28, 2020, the popular song received a Gold certification, revealing yet another accomplishment that has made many people proud of Davido, the superstar. In the US, Davido now joins Wizkid, whose big single “Essence” has sold over a million copies, and CKay, whose smash hit “Love Nwantiti,” has also sold over a million copies. Fans are ecstatic and can’t wait for more from the 30 BG boss as an artist in 2023 after he revealed there would be more to come from him.
Speaking of more to come from the singer, it has been announced that he would join Big Wiz on a joint tour later this year, right after Starboy wraps up his More Love Less Ego tour. The universe seems to be compensating OBO for the tragic loss he suffered last year when he lost his son. It can only be up from here.
