Nigerian megastar Davido has discussed entertainment’s role in allowing Africans and Nigerians to escape the harsh realities of life. Recently, Davido released his eagerly awaited fourth album, “Timeless,” to positive reviews domestically and abroad. The hitmaker is thrilled that music is providing Nigerians with a means of escaping adversity, and the album is already on course to be Davido’s most commercial record to date.

Davido was questioned about the growth of Afrobeats around the world during an interview on Kiss FM. However, the multi-award-winning megastar expressed his pride in the success of Nigerian artists abroad. Davido recalled how he first met Rema when D’Prince had just signed him and said he was happy to see Rema break the African record for the highest charting single on the Billboard Hot 100.

Davido contends that while the government’s responsibility is to create ways for its people to live better and more manageable lives, it has fallen short of this goal. Entertainment is now filling the void left by this failure.
