Davido Launches Football Talent Hunt To Empower African Youth
David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, has partnered with Abu Salami Media and 1XBet to launch an innovative football talent search program for aspiring young athletes. The initiative, titled “Davido Dream Football Show,” aims to foster and support the development of football skills and tactical knowledge among passionate young players aged 18 to 22 in Nigeria and throughout Africa.
Abu Salami, CEO of Abu Salami Media and Chairman of the Davido Dream Football Show (DDFS), discussed the program’s goals during a Tuesday press conference in Lagos. He emphasized that the initiative aims to empower young male footballers and assist them in achieving their aspirations of becoming future stars.
The talent search will be a 30-week-long reality television series with a weekly episode broadcast. Registration, screening, and a succession of tests will be utilized to identify the most promising talents. Those chosen will attend a final camp before appearing on the program.
Davido, as president of DDFS, expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative and its potential to create opportunities for young people throughout Nigeria and Africa.
He emphasized the significance of impact and the positive impact the program could have on the lives of many young people. Moreover, he believes that the initiative could serve as a model for the development of grassroots football in Africa.
The talent search’s selection criteria will emphasize talent, demeanor, and dedication, with screenings planned throughout Nigeria. Included in the program is a training camp for selected athletes in preparation for trials with partner organizations in Europe. This partnership aims to give young athletes the opportunity to compete at the highest levels and make their aspirations a reality.
