Unverified rumors claim that one of the biggest Nigerian artists, David Adeleke, or Davido as he is popularly known, would be performing at the Qatar 2022 World Cup’s awards closing ceremony. If accurate, he would be performing for the first time since losing his son Ifeanyi a little over two months ago.
Stephen Hung, a businessman from Hong Kong, confirmed his scheduled appearance on his verified Instagram page.
Hung wrote; “So happy my bro @davido confirmed he will be performing at the World Cup Qatar closing ceremony. Can’t wait to see him there”.
Davido appeared on “Hayya Hayya (Better Together),” the opening tune from the extensive FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Official Soundtrack, in March 2022 alongside AISHA and Trinidad Cardona. Davido became the first musician from Nigeria to appear in a FIFA World Cup song as a result.
The musician, who just turned 30, recently lost his first child, Ifeanyi Adeleke, who drowned in their home’s swimming pool a few weeks ago. The singer hasn’t been in the spotlight since the sad tragedy. At the inauguration of his uncle Ademola Adeleke as the new governor of Osun State, he made his debut in front of the public.
Additionally, Davido was photographed with his wedding band on, proving that he is indeed married to Chioma. The celebrity couple hitched in secret following the death of their kid, according to sources.
