Davido’s return follows a mourning period for the tragic loss of his three-year-old son, Ifeanyi, whom he shared with his fianceé, Chioma Rowland. Ifeanyi drowned in a pool at the singer’s residence in Lagos in October 2022.

The singer’s announcement came after he deleted several pictures and videos from his Instagram page. Returning with a video, he thanked his fans for their love and support during his time away: “There is a time for everything. A time to grieve and a time to heal. A time to laugh and a time to dance. Davido also acknowledged the support he received from fans, including their messages, gifts, and concerts thrown in his honor: “I appreciate it all. Today, I want to remind you all that what is now Timeless was once new. It’s time for new. My next album TIMELESS is here, March 31st.”
