DJ Switch Shuts Down False Reports Of Getting Arrested

Prominent Nigerian disc jockey Obianuju Catherine Udeh, also referred to as DJ Switch, has denied reports that the Lagos police have arrested her. Popular blogger, Linda Ikeji, claimed that the popular DJ is being transported to the Eti-Osa Magistrate Court.

DJ Switch allegedly went to the police on Monday, April 15, in Elemoro, Ajah, to report a person who had allegedly scammed her. According to the police, the suspect was taken into custody on the day DJ Switch filed her complaint and has been in their custody ever since.

The report states that DJ Switch was called on Wednesday, April 27th, to give her intentions about the accused clearly—that is, to state if she wanted him charged or freed on bond, as it is illegal to hold an accused person for longer than 48 hours. The accused allegedly refused DJ Switch’s demand for an apology that would be videotaped and posted online.

But the allegations state that while the accused was being taken to court, things became tense, and DJ Switch allegedly used her car to block the station’s entry and assaulted the female officers who were working on the case.

She was so taken into custody on charges of assaulting policemen, resisting arrest, and interfering with police work. DJ Switch has strongly dispelled the rumors and threatened legal action against blogs for defamation in reaction to these accusations.
