Falz Implores Nigerians To Demand Accountability From INEC

Falz, a generally recognized Nigerian rapper, has urged voters to hold the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) accountable for the outcomes of the current presidential and national assembly elections. According to Tooxclusive, Nigerians went to the polls on February 25, 2023, to choose a new group of leaders for various governmental positions.

Many people anticipated that the general elections in 2023 would be very different from the previous ones held in Nigeria since more young people would be motivated to participate. Meanwhile, Nigerians are still excitedly awaiting the start of results compilation, especially for the presidential election, 24 hours after ballots were cast in the majority of polling places across the nation.

Some Nigerians who felt something suspicious might be going on became cynical due to this long wait. On Sunday, February 26, 2023, Falz joined the discussion and shared an Instagram story urging voters to exercise caution as INEC prepared to release the results. The activist-turned-rapper also warned that if the results don’t match those that voters recorded at the voting places, Nigerians will rise in protest against the commission.

“If INEC announce any result wey no match, we go calculate all by ourselves. Let’s just start consolidating final results from our polling units,” stated Falz.
