Funk Flex Issues A Challenge, And A$AP Ferg Responds

To premiere an unheard song on his Hot 97 show, A$AP Ferg has agreed to take up Funk Flex’s challenge. In a video posted on social media over the weekend, the rapper from Floor Seats confronted the New York DJ. Puffing on a cigar, Ferg remarked, “You said you wanted the smoke.”

“ASAPFERG HAS ACCEPTED THE CHALLENGE!!!” Funk Flex teased a Thursday announcement in the caption of the video on Instagram. “@THEREALSWIZZZ ???? HES READY??? 7PM??? THURSDAY??? @HOT97 ???? FISH U SMOKING CIGARS???? @SOULONTHEHUDSON_ WHO DO I CHALLENGE NEXT???”

On September 1, Funk Flex first issued the challenge to him and Swizz Beatz. Flex asked the iconic producer to share a song from the late DMX for Swizz Beatz. A track from DMX’s album that samples Big Daddy Kane’s 1988 song “Ain’t No Half-Steppin'” has previously been leaked by Flex. Swizz previously stated that he’s hesitant to release too much DMX music.

Swizz acknowledged this year on The Breakfast Club that “he’s got a lot of music.”  Continuing, he said, “But for me it’s like, he just worked so hard on this record that I don’t really want to tamper with things unless it can be better than this record. I don’t want to just put things out, and even with the footage, we recorded the whole process of the album, and we could’ve been putting that footage out right now leading up to the album.”
