Global Girl : Tems’ ‘Found’ Set To Receive RIAA Plaque

Temilade ‘Tems’ Openiyi, the global sensation from Nigeria, is poised to add another RIAA plaque to her collection after another single, “Found,” has sold over 500,000 copies. According to information from the chart media outlet Chart Data, sales of Tems’ song “Found” in the US have topped 500,000 units.

Brent Faiyaz is featured on the single, which was taken from her 2021 “If Orange Was A Place” EP. The song is now qualified for gold certification in the US; this would mark Tems’ third solo gold certification after “Free Mind” and “Higher,” both of which have already been honored.

Tems has gained international success since breaking through in 2020 and has been featured by Drake, Beyonce, and Future. In addition, she has received platinum medals. Her contributions to Future’s “Wait For U” and Wizkid’s “Essence” have earned her platinum honors and award nominations.

She has received nominations for Emmy and Oscar awards for her composition on the lead soundtrack for “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” “Lift Me,” which she wrote. Additionally, at the 65th Grammy Awards, she recently took home the Grammy for best musical rap performance.

Tems was the only Nigerian artist invited to this year’s ROC Nation pre-grammy party hosted by label executive Rapper Jay Z and his wife, Beyonce.
