Here Are The Winners Of The 2022 BMI Country Music Awards
The 50 most-performed songs of the year, as well as the songwriters and music publishers who created them, were honored at the BMI Country Music Awards on Tuesday night (Nov. 8), which took place at BMI’s Nashville offices.
Ashley McBryde, Kelsea Ballerini, Priscilla Block, Kane Brown, Kenny Chesney, Luke Combs, Michael Hardy (who goes by the name HARDY), Elle King, Miranda Lambert, Dustin Lynch, Jake Owen, Carrie Underwood, and Keith Urban were among the artist-writers in attendance. Del Bryant, the former CEO of BMI, and past BMI Icon winners Bob DiPiero and Bill Anderson were also there.
Michael O’Neill, president and chief executive officer of BMI, presided over the event and welcomed the attendees. BMI vp, creative, Nashville Clay Bradley, as well as AVP, creative Mason Hunter, AVP, creative Leslie Roberts, and executive director, creative Shannon Sanders, all celebrated this year’s winning songs, writers, and publishers.
Bradley mentioned that 72 first-time BMI award-winning songwriters were among this year’s awardees. The event began with David Lee Murphy and Shy Carter singing “Beer With My Friends.” After releasing 25 of the top 50 songs of the year, Sony Music Publishing was named BMI’s music publisher of the year.
The song “Forever After All” by Luke Combs, Rob Williford, and Drew Parker won the 2022 BMI Country Song of the Year award. After winning the ACM songwriter of the year award earlier this year, Hardy was awarded the BMI country songwriter of the year.
The full list of the remaining honorees from the evening can be found on the official BMI website.
