Hugh Jackman Returns To The Role Of Wolverine In Ryan Reynolds’ “Deadpool 3”

In “Deadpool 3,” Hugh Jackman will return to the role of Wolverine, Ryan Reynolds announced on social media Tuesday afternoon. The official “Deadpool 3” release date is September 6, 2024.

“Hey everyone, we’re extremely sad to have missed D23, but we’ve been working very hard on the next ‘Deadpool’ film for a good long while now,” says Ryan Reynolds, noting that the panel was unexpectedly absent from the Disney event earlier this month.

“I’ve had to really search my soul on this one. His first appearance in the MCU obviously needs to feel special. We need to stay true to the character, find new depth, motivation, meaning. Every ‘Deadpool’ needs to stand out and stand apart. It’s been an incredible challenge that has forced me to reach down deep inside.”

“And I…I have nothing. Yeah, just completely empty up here. And terrifying. But we did have one idea,” as none other than Hugh Jackman himself struts behind him. “Hey, Hugh, you want to play Wolverine one more time?”

“Yeah, sure, Ryan,” replies Jackman. The song “I Will Always Love You” by Whitney Houston closes the clip, but the subtitles contain clever wordplay, reading: “I will always love Hugh” and “Coming Hughn.” The moment the Deadpool logo emerges, Wolverine’s adamantium claws rip through it.
