Irv Gotti Asserts He Created “Happy” Following A Sexual Encounter With Ashanti

Ashanti recorded her 2002 smash single “Happy” after they had smashed, according to latest information from Irv Gotti.

Irv Gotti, the head of Murder Inc., and rapper Ja Rule made an appearance on the most recent Drink Champs episode, which debuted on YouTube on August 6. They talked about their infamous record label and shared some fascinating anecdotes.

Co-host N.O.R.E questioned Irv about his alleged romance with Ashanti and how it affected the company during the conversation. No, the rap mogul replied, adding that the R&B artist benefited from their connection.

“It helped her,” Irv stated, matter-of-factly before describing how “Happy” came to be. “We just finished sleeping together, or whatever, I’m taking a shower. I’m in the shower, you know, a nigga be creative after [sex] . I think of the whole track in the shower.”

Irv claimed that he hummed the song to his producer, Chink Santana, over the phone before having ‘Shanti compose the music in the studio. “Okay, now it’s time for you to write,” Irv recounted. “Yo, I want the shit to be a feel-good joint, like summertime.”

“‘I’m so happy, baby,” he sings before going on to add, “The energy. That record came about ’cause of our energy.” Irv said, “Not anymore,” in response to the query about whether he missed that “energy.”
