Irv Gotti’s Comments About Ashanti On “Drink Champs” Are Criticized By Fat Joe
Following a controversy sparked by a recent Drink Champs show, talk regarding Irv Gotti and Ashanti has increased. Irv and Ja Rule joined the well-liked platform to talk about all things Murder Inc., including, reportedly, Gotti’s relationship with his former singer Ashanti decades before. Ashanti moved on to rapper Nelly after a brief relationship with the couple, which was rumored to be hot and heavy.
Gotti has become the target of criticism as a result of the Ashanti tales because the public found his recounting of his previous relationship to be a touch off-putting. However, the Drink Champs interview left more than just fans with a bad taste in their mouths. Fat Joe, a longtime enemy of Ja, Irv, and Ashanti, disapproved of the way the music mogul discussed the Grammy-winning singer.
In a video, Fat Joe said, “Ashanti, right, and so, whatever Irv has with Ashanti is twenty years old, right? I know he was making some points that mean a lot to him in his heart and soul, but when you keep ranting about somebody, twenty years later? It felt like he’s not over the young lady. And so also, we didn’t know that they was f*ckin’, right? ‘Cause the whole time, I’m there!”
