American rapper Isaiah Rashad has come out to break his silence. The TDE rapper is speaking for the first time after a tape showing him involved in sexual activity with fellow men surfaced on social media.
Speaking In an interview with Joe Budden scheduled for release later this week, Rashad explained the controversial event from a different, somewhat personal, perspective to what was shown on social media.
In a snippet of the interview shared on Instagram, the rapper appeared to often struggle for words as he attempted to answer the questions from the journalist. Rashad particularly seemed to lack the courage to disclose his sexual identity when put on the spot by the journalist.
Isaiah Joel McClain, known professionally as Isaiah Rashad, had disappeared from the public scene following the leak of the sex tape that circulated on social media late in 2021, although not the first time the rapper would be missing from the public scene. The rapper had previously vanished from the rap scene for five years following the 2016 release of his debut album, The Sun’s Tirade. Immediately after the album’s release, Rashad ran into issues with his record label, got addicted to alcohol and was pushed off the scene into rehab for five years.
He made a return to the stage in 2021, and barely five months later, the controversial video appeared on social media. Rashad, who performed at Coachella in April, seized an opportunity to briefly comment on the video before his performance. However, he has decided to make a complete statement on the clip and other issues surrounding his career.
