Jennifer Lopez Felt She Was “Going To Die” Following The “Painful” Ben Affleck Breakup

The journey to marriage for Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck was really not easy.

The “Marry Me” singer discussed her revived relationship with the “Deep Water” actor in a recent interview with Apple Music 1, and she also talked about the hurt she felt when they broke off their previous engagement in 2004.

“It was so painful after we broke up,” Lopez, revealed to host, Zane Lowe. “Once we called off that wedding 20 years ago, it was the biggest heartbreak of my life. I honestly felt like I was going to die.”

She went on to say, “It sent me on a spiral for the next 18 years where I just couldn’t get it right. But now, 20 years later, it does have a happy ending. It has the most ‘would never happen in Hollywood’ ending.”

Lopez, who reignited her relationship with 50-year-old Affleck 17 years after their initial breakup, revealed on Friday that she will be releasing a new album titled “This Is Me… Now,” which is an updated version of her 2002 album “This Is Me… Then.” The co-stars of “Gigli” first became engaged in November 2002, the same month that Lopez’s album “This Is Me… Then” was released, but broke things up two years later.

After she broke up with her ex-fiance Alex Rodriguez in April 2021, Page Six reported that Lopez and Affleck were reuniting. A year later, they became engaged, and in July 2022, they were married in Las Vegas. The following month, they had a formal wedding at Affleck’s Georgia estate.
