However, Joeboy’s most recent attempt to spread Afrobeats internationally went differently than planned when he was stopped from playing because of what the event’s organizers considered to be the use of profanity. The singer, who was in St. Lucia to entertain the crowd at the Festival Of Jazz and Arts at Pigeon Island National Landmark, was prevented from taking the stage when his DJ used the “F” word to address the crowd.

In an Instagram post on May 14, Joeboy narrated what happened, calling it a sincere “oversight he was unaware of.”

While the specifics of what happened between the event’s planners and Joeboy’s team are primarily unclear, it is well-known that musicians frequently use profanity, mainly when performing. It seems odd that Joeboy would be barred from performing because of his usage of the “F word.” Joeboy also criticized the concert promoter for being disrespectful and challenging to work with. He couldn’t stand it. He accused him of disrespecting his team.

On May 17, 2023, Joeboy will release his sophomore album, and he plans to put the entire St. Lucia incident behind him.
