Kanye West Relieves His Divorce Attorney Of His Legal Services Before Divorce Hearing
Kanye West has sent his divorce attorney packing just a day before a court hearing that would determine if Kim Kardashian should be declared legally single…or not.
According to what Melcher told Billboard, the rapper will no longer need the legal services of Chris Melcher, as he will be making a replacement with Samantha Spector. On the other hand, Spector is a well-known Hollywood divorce attorney who recently represented Dr. Dre’s wife in her split with the rap legend. Representing Kardashian continues to be Laura Wasser, another top LA divorce lawyer.
The reasons for the shakeup are still pretty unclear, but the news came just a day before a judge was scheduled for Wednesday to hear arguments from both Kim and Kanye’s attorneys over her move to divide her divorce from Ye into two parts – a procedure that will immediately bring an end to their marriage, while posing more complicated questions about assets and custody to future proceedings.
Kim K requested the quick-split manoeuvre back in December, but West objected to it last month when he filed. She was quick to fire back, complaining that he had brought her “emotional distress” with his outbursts and rants on social media, suggesting he needed “help” to “accept that our marital relationship is over.”
