Kanye West Will Not Be Having “Final Edit And Approval” Power Over Upcoming Netflix Documentary

Kanye West will not be making it through to the edit room of his upcoming “Jeen-Yuhs” Netflix Documentary, according to the film’s directors.

Netflix will be hosting exclusively a three-part documentary film based principally on the music career of Ye. The documentary is slated for release on the 26th of February.

On an Instagram post, Kanye had posted what would appear to be the film’s poster, with a long caption underneath that read:

“I must get final edit and approval on this doc before it releases on Netflix. Open the edit room immediately so I can be in charge of my own image. Thank you in advance.” And then he comes to the end of all of that and inserts a smiley? Funny guy.

The directors of the Jeen-Yuhs, Coodie and Chike, sat down with Rolling Stone for an interview, where they opened up as to why they made the decision.

“Me and Chike have a company called Creative Control, because you don’t want to lose your creative control,” Coodie said.

“If Kanye wasn’t as polarising of a character as he was, we wouldn’t have an interesting doc,” Chike added. “This just comes with the territory. This is Kanye’s personality, so you just embrace it and then it’s going to take us, take us wherever it takes us…. This is the person that we’re dealing with. We all know what we’re dealing with.”
