KEM Marks 20th Anniversary With Motown Through Live Album & Debut Memoir

Kem: Anniversary – The Live Album Out Today – On Motown Records

KEM, the Three-time GRAMMY®-nominated R&B singer, is marking the 20th anniversary of his signing with the legendary Motown label with the release of his first live album, “ANNIVERSARY – THE LIVE ALBUM,” as well as his debut memoir, “Share My Life: A Journey of Love, Faith, and Redemption.”

Motown Records released “ANNIVERSARY – THE LIVE ALBUM” today, while Simon & Schuster published KEM’s debut book earlier this week. KEM’s month-long celebration began with a performance and interview on ABC’s “Good Morning America” and an appearance on the Emmy Award®-winning daytime chat show “Tamron Hall Show.”

The SOUL II SOUL TOUR, co-headlining with Ledisi and including special guest Musiq Soulchild, begins tonight at Cincinnati’s Heritage Bank Center. The three R&B heavyweights first performed together on KEM’s 2011 INTIMACY TOUR. Tickets are now available at musicbykem.com.

KEM recorded “ANNIVERSARY – THE LIVE ALBUM” in the fall of 2022 in Detroit’s Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre. KEM’s compelling voice and musical prowess are highlighted in powerful versions of songs spanning his career, including No. 1 hits “Love Calls,” “I Can’t Stop Loving You,” “Why Would You Stay,” “Nobody,” “Lie To Me,” and “Stuck On You.” Anniversary – The Live Album is available for purchase here:

KEM thanked his Motown family for believing in his debut album, “KEMISTRY,” and for their continuing support throughout his musical journey of love. He called the culmination of his career’s last two decades, a live album recorded in Detroit, a “epic” event.

Celebrating the 20th Anniversary of my signing to the Motown label is exceptionally significant for me. As a young man creating music, only in my wildest dreams could I envision a life that could encapsulate the magnitude of a moment like this. My heart is filled with gratitude to my Motown family for having faith in my debut album, KEMISTRY, and continuing to support my musical journey of love. Having the last two decades of my career culminate in a live album recorded in Detroit, in the city and with the people who first heard “Love Calls” and helped put me on the map, is epic

KEM looks into his life and tells his inspirational journey from childhood to homelessness to becoming an internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter in his memoir, “Share My Life: A Journey of Love, Faith, and Redemption.” Kirkus Reviews called the memoir a “forthright chronicle of hard-won success.”

The emotions involved in bringing his song to life have defined KEM’s journey to the stage. Today, the internationally acclaimed R&B singer-songwriter has one Platinum-selling album (KEM: ALBUM II), two Gold-selling albums (KEMISTRY; INTIMACY), four GRAMMY® nominations, eight No. 1 smash singles, and multiple sold-out national and international tours.
