Lagos Elections: Naira Marley Backs Sanwo-Olu For Lagos Governor

Naira Marley, the controversial Nigerian singer, has spoken out on the elections, particularly the forthcoming polls for Governor of Lagos State. Naira Marley has joined other famous people, like Mercy Johnson, to endorse the current governor and APC flag bearer.

Taking to Twitter, the artist posted, “For me, Sanwo Olu again ni o,” On his Instagram page on Wednesday evening, Naira Marley broadcast a live video in which he expressed his feelings and backed Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Sanwo-Olu was deemed the ideal candidate for the leadership role by the singer.

He continued that the infrastructure and other areas have seen substantial improvement, and this was visible to everyone. Sanwo-Olu would make Lagos great, the singer claimed.

“I gotta say…I gotta say…I’m gonna put one or two things inside this thing you get me. I’m not (for the) All Progressives Congress, I’m not (for the) Peoples Democratic Party, I’m not (for the) Labour Party…but where Lagos is going right now, we don’t need to start testing at all. I think Sanwo-Olu is the right person for the job. This is not a paid promo or nothing. But look at now, everything he’s done, common guys … he’s achieved a lot, the results are there, you get me, and he also has the experience, you know,”.

“You can tell, look at the result… actions speak louder than words obviously. If you see all the ongoing projects, common bro,

“You can’t say we should not talk now because of one thing or the other, we’re Nigerians, we’re not the APC, we all want a better Nigeria.”

Sanwo-Olu is running to retain his office as Governor of Lagos state in what has become a three-horse race as he contends against Labour Prty’s Gbadebo Rhode-Vivour and PDP’s Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor. This is one of the most watched Lagos elections recently as the electorate has decided to be more politically aware as they choose and give their mandate.
