Magixx Drops Two New Singles; ‘Colors (My Baby)’ & ‘Loyal’

Following the release of Crayon’s “The One (Chop Life)” with Yaba Buluku Boys and other blistering releases from the fiery Mavin Records camp this year, Mavins Artists are on a roll, and the torch has been passed to Magixx to carry on the enduring relevance the current Mavins stars have been enjoying so far.

Magixx, the Mavin Records phenomenon poised to become one of Nigeria’s most intriguing new performers, has returned with his first 2023 releases. Magixx shows off his range with two hits by enticing listeners with a smooth Afro-pop song and swaggering Dancehall flair.

Magixx offers the culture of not just one but two brand-new songs. The two songs, “Colors (My Baby)” and “Loyal,” were written by multi-platinum-selling record producer Andre Vibez. The tracks last for a total of five minutes and twenty seconds. As a follow-up to his critically praised 4-track extended play “ATOM,” Magixx’s new singles are his first release of the year.

Born and raised in Lagos State, Alexander Adelabu graduated from the University of Lagos with a degree in mass communication. He became a member of Mavin Records in 2021. He collaborated with Ayra Starr to record a new version of “Love Don’t Cost a Dime” in February 2022. The song peaked at number eight on March 28, 2022, after debuting at number 27 on the TurnTableTop 50 chart. He released “Shaye” as the first single of his second EP, ATOM, on July 20, 2022. The release of ATOM on July 22, 2022, received favorable reviews from critics.
