Master P Talks About Her Addiction Battle And The Death Of Tytyana Miller, Her Daughter

Master P is attempting to raise awareness about mental illness and drug usage after his daughter Tytyana Miller passed away from an accidental overdose in May. Master P is using the tragedy that befell his family to aid others.

The rapper, 52, gave his first interview on CBS Mornings on July 22 after his daughter Tytyana Miller went unexpectedly in May following an unintentional drug overdose. “It’s hard. Coming from poverty, you would think that you would outlive your kids and that was the mission,” he said to host Gayle King.

“I feel like, going to my daughter’s funeral, I went to my own funeral.” Master P said he learned of Tytyana’s passing from one of his other daughters, calling it the “worst call that a parent can get.” Master P and ex-wife Sonya C have seven children together, in addition to two other kids from previous relationships.

“My sympathy go out to everybody that lost a child,” he empathized. “I said, ‘I’m gonna turn my pain into passion and I’m gonna turn it into a purpose because I can’t get my daughter back.’ I love her and think about her every day, and it took me and my family to go through something that I just can’t stop thinking about, but I realize that I have to get out here and help and save other kids.”
