Mr Eazi Becomes First Nigerian To Win Latin Grammy, Receives Four Certificates
Mr. Eazi, the pioneer of Banku Music, made history by becoming the first Nigerian entertainer to receive a Latin GRAMMY. In addition, he was nominated for four titles at the 21st annual Latin GRAMMYs. His work on projects awarded in every area they’ve been nominated has earned him recognition.
The renowned Nigerian singer, songwriter, and businessman was a featured artist on the song Arcoris from “Colores – J Balvin,” which took home the award for Best Urban Album, as well as on the album “Oasis – J Balvin x Bad Bunny,” which earned the same award. His contributions to the projects Oasis and Colores received high praise for their avant-garde treatment of Latin music and genre-defying sounds.
The featured songs COMO UN BEBÉ and Acoiris, which have amassed over 198 Million and 54 Million streams, respectively, on Spotify alone, served to give the projects a new angle. Eazi formally accepted the awards for his participation in the albums Oasis by JBalvin/Bad Bunny for Album of the Year 2020, Oasis by JBalvin/Bad Bunny for Best Urban Album 2020, Composer on Colores Album of the Year 2020, and in Colores by J Balvin – Best Urban Album (Winner) 2020.
Mr. Eazi’s success in the Latin music industry is a testament to his talent and dedication to dismantling stereotypes and developing a genuinely global sound. Later this year, he plans to put out his latest body of work.
