As he gets ready for the release of the deluxe edition of his debut album “Boy Alone,” Nigerian artist Omah Lay has previewed a new catchy tune.
Omah Lay shared a sneak peek of an unreleased tune on his Instagram account on January 22, 2022. The song will appear on the deluxe edition of his 2022 album “Boy Alone.”
Omah Lay has emerged as one of Afrobeats’ most promising artists because of the addictive melody and well-known Pop components in his songs.
The debut album by Omah Lay, titled “Boy Alone,” was released in July 2022 and has been a commercial and critical success. The album was listed as the second-best album of 2022 by Pulse.
One of the album’s songs, “Soso,” has also been gaining popularity over the previous week and peaked at No. 3 on TurnTable Top 100.
Omah Lay has consistently hinted that the album will be released in a deluxe form in 2023. Although a release date has not yet been set, the song that has been preview will undoubtedly increase interest.
He was the first musician featured for Apple’s Africa Rising Campaign, which was launched on July 3, 2020, to highlight African talent. He was on the yearly “Hot for 2021” list published by BBC Radio 1Xtra in December 2020. He was the first African musician to be highlighted on Audiomack’s #Up Now program for up-and-coming musicians as the artist of the month for November 2020. He presently has deals with Sire Records for global distribution and Dvpper Music Distribution for Nigeria. He received four nominations for the 2020 Headies Awards, taking home the Next Rated honors.
