In Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, Tobi Owomoyela, better known by his stage name MC Peteru, was a prominent Nigerian comedian. On December 21, the comedian well-known for his Yoruba parody of Big Brother Naija passed away. He was allegedly the lone son of a family of seven. His coworkers have used social media to express their sorrow at his tragic passing.

Bryan, living in the United States with his mother, is Peteru’s only surviving kid. Many of his followers also expressed their amazement and condolences in his final post, which was published on November 1, 2022. Reports have it that the comedian passed away due to complications from colon cancer, not the fiction that some bloggers are peddling about lung cancer, an accident, and suicide. According to a source close to the family, the adored comedian, 35, who buried his father just six weeks ago, was scheduled to remarry in the first few months of 2023.

Due to his distinctive mimicking, Peteru became well-known in the comedy world. Until his passing, he was one of the fastest-rising comics to establish a name for himself in the South-West of Nigeria. He also collaborated with some of the top Nigerian performers. In Ibadan, Oyo State, he was also an MC, a brand influencer, and an on-air personality.
