Odumodublvck Requests That The Headies Establish A Category For Best Group

Fast-rising Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has urged The Headies to include a category for the best group in advance of his collaborative studio effort with his Abuja-based rap group, Antiworld Gangstars. The rapper shared his message on his X account, addressed to Ayo Animashahun, President of The Headies.

With his music, Odumodublvck has soared to commercial success and is reviving the commerciality of Nigerian hip hop after bursting into the mainstream in 2023 following years of strong underground effort. Following the release of his highly anticipated mixtape “Eziokwu,” Odumodublvck won Rookie of the Year and Best Rap Song for “Declan Rice” at the 2023 Headies.

The brilliance of the Anti-World Gangstars, who made multiple appearances on the unedited version of Odumodublvck’s mixtape “Eziokwu,” is expected to be shown on the forthcoming collaboration album. The Headies Academy had earlier declared that following two years in Atlanta, USA, the award presentation would make a return to Nigeria for its 17th edition.

Odumodublvck is due to perform at the 2024 Splash Festival in Germany, which runs from March 4-6. The hit-maker is expected to perform on the first day, among American rappers Offset and Gunna, Shirin David, and D-Block. Odumodublvck is the sole Nigerian rapper on the festival’s lineup, which also includes international rappers such as 21 Savage, Teezo Touchdown, and Sexy Redd.
